Paleo-CO2 Product

This site provides access to published Cenozoic paleo-CO2 data that have been compiled and vetted by an international group of proxy experts. The following reference describes the details of the vetting process and should be cited when using all or any subset of these data, along with the original publications: The CenCO2PIP Consortium,Towards a Cenozoic History of Atmospheric CO2, Science 382, eadi5177, doi: 10.1126/science.adi5177 (2023).

The project is currently in its second phase, where paleo-CO2 proxy data from all established terrestrial and marine archives are being documented, vetted and modernized, covering the entire Phanerozoic. Content and functionality of this site are updated frequently, so please check back soon and follow us on LinkedIn for periodic update announcements.

In each graph, click and drag or select an epoch in the plot to zoom. Zoom out using the magnifying glass icon. Click on the proxy names in the legend to toggle their visibility. Use the download data button to download values and their associated references.
